1 The Problem (What are you actually fixing?)
People don't buy products or services; they buy solutions to their problems. What frustration or inconvenience are you addressing?
Tip: "I want to sell custom digital planners" is the product. "Students feel overwhelmed tracking deadlines across three different apps" is the problem.
2 Your Person (Who feels this the most?)
Remember, "everyone" is not your audience. Describe the specific type of person who desperately needs your solution.
Tip: Think about their age, occupation, hobbies, or daily routine. E.g., "Freelance graphic designers who work from home," or "First-year nursing students."
3 The Landscape (Who else is out there?)
How are they currently solving this? List 1 or 2 existing businesses or workarounds. Then, tell us what makes your approach different or better.
Tip: Your difference could be your price, your personal style, your location, or your specific focus.
4 The Reality Check (The human element)
Talk to 2 or 3 people who fit the description in Question 2. Don't ask them if they like your idea; ask them about how they currently deal with 'The Problem'.
Tip: What did they say? Did they confirm this is a real frustration? Did they give you a new perspective?
